Millard Johnson was born in Beaumont, Texas on June 6, 1958. He received his B.A. and graduated magna cum laude in 1980 from the University of Houston and graduated cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 1983. While in law school, Millard was a member of the Order of the Barons, Phi Delta Phi and Phi Kappa Phi. He received the International Academy of Trial Attorneys Award in 1983. He also sat as a student member of the Admissions Committee of the Law School. In addition, he served as an Associate Justice on the Board of Advocates in 1983, and was the Coordinator of Region 8 of the National Trial Competition. Millard was admitted to the Texas bar in 1983 and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and D.C. Circuits. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. He was the author of Strategies and Pitfalls in the Jury Charge Conference (1993) Houston Bar Association, and was a speaker for the Houston Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Series. Millard is a member of the Houston Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. He has served as a court appointed mediator and as an arbitrator in proceedings before the American Arbitration Association. Millard's practice is primarily commercial litigation; however, he also has substantial experience in the area of errors and omissions, insurance litigation, including mass actions, and products liability. In addition, he has significant appellate experience in both the state and federal court systems. Millard is frequently contacted by clients and other attorneys to counsel them in both business and litigation strategies.
